So we have a basement! Now it's Mike's favorite part: The framing! I honestly think this is the whole reason we are going through all this sometimes. Mike has been so excited to get his tools back out and build something with his own two hands. Obviously, he won't do the whole house by himself, but he seems pretty determined to do as much as possible. I'm thankful for that. I know we'll have a good, strong home.
The excavators came out and backfilled the basement last weekend and Mike went out and built the first set of stairs so we can get into the basement. He has been trying to work out there yesterday and today but the rain has been an obstacle. Either way, as the house gets framed in the next few weeks, we'll really start to see some progress!
