A (Cold) Day at the Zoo

Thanks to Groupon, we got a discount on our zoo membership. I planned to take the kids to the zoo over Spring Break. The middle of March brought us great hope for spring and warmer temperatures. But, oh, it was not to be. We went on Wednesday because Mike was able to take a half day off and join us. We stopped for lunch on our way. As we were finishing up we looked out the window and couldn’t believe our eyes! SNOW!! Oh well! We had made our plans and we were on our way! We never seem to like to do things the easy way around here anyhow. And, what great memories we made!

Sydney and Jared are finally tall enough to pose with the penguins!

The lion did a great job posing, but he only sat here for minute. If you look behind Sydney, Corban and Jared in the next picture you can see him snuggled in under his perch, trying to keep warm and dry.

So, we headed inside for a little fun!

It was fun having Mike along! And, that meant I could actually be in a picture with the kids for once! I wouldn’t change a thing about our little mini adventure on Wednesday. And, by the time we got home there were a couple inches of snow on the ground! It was a great day for snuggling up as a family!
