Gingerich Get-together

This afternoon we headed over to Maple Grove Mennonite Church for a little Gathering of the Gingerichs. Mike's great-aunt Betty was in town so the family decided to surprise her with a celebration for her 80th birthday. All of her living siblings were there today. This would be Mike's mom, Esther's aunts and uncles on her dad's side. There are Elizabeth and Verna (E & V), Elmer, Mose, John E., Betty and Anna. Noah and Mike's grandpa Jonah have passed away and there was also another brother who passed away as a boy.
It is always so entertaining to get the family together. The older ones love to tell stories about how things were as they were growing up and they don't often miss a chance to pick on one another.
Elizabeth was joking that we should also be celebrating her 90th birthday coming up. These Gingerichs are some hardy people!
Here are the sisters singing together. From L-R: Betty, Anna, Elizabeth and Verna
John E. is trying to remind someone of a story he wants told. I love hearing him talk because he sounds just like Mike's grandpa used to. They are really the most wonderful family you could ever hope to be a part of.

Mose and Elmer are sharing another story. Actually, Mose wanted Elmer to tell a particular story about burning dolls (which I think means even then they were terrorizing their sisters!), but Elmer couldn't remember it.

Mike's aunt Joanne loves all the babies! We love Aunt Joanne! She is holding Dave and Karen Miller's youngest, Andrea who is 7 months old and Lynn and Ranada Schrock's daughter, Mackenzie (I hope I spelled that right!), who is 18 months old. Both are absolute cuties!
