Oh great! Sydney's eight!

Time flies when you're having fun! And life with Sydney is nothing if it's not fun! And busy. And constant. It's hard to believe this little girl came screaming into our world 8 years ago already and changed it forever. For the better.

Her birthday was the day before school started, so I planned her party for the Friday before. She got to invite some friends - she was so excited to see some friends from school. We had it at BabyCakes Bakery. Each girl got to decorate two cupcakes and a box to take one home in. They got to eat the other one - yum!

Sydney and I:
Sydney's cupcake had a little bit of everything :)
Jared got to come along, too. I wish I had gotten a better picture of his cupcake - he put blue sprinkles over the chocolate frosting and sat two gummy bears on top, looking at each other. Very creative!
All decorated and ready to take home!
BabyCakes also had this table all set up and ready to go with popcorn, water and punch for the girls. We also got a giant cupcake which I shared with the moms who stayed. It was YUMMY!
This is Sydney pretending to be embarrassed by everyone singing happy birthday. Don't let her fool you!
The happiest girl in the world with her friends!
We waited until her actual birthday to let her open her gifts from us at home. Here she's opening Legos from Uncle Mike. She was *so* happy to get a new set her brothers didn't have yet!

And we added to her friends. Meet Saige, the American Girl doll. Sydney is so excited. She tells me every day that she and Saige have the same hair color. And she is taking such good care of her. I even find her whispering to Saige. It's so sweet!
