Mini Trip

We knew with building the house that we wouldn't have time for a real vacation. So, to make sure we took some family time this summer, Mike bought a gift card package for places in Columbus from our school's annual auction. We took that trip this last weekend. And we packed our days full!

Our first stop was COSI. We visited here the last time we were in Columbus and we had a blast once again! Here are the kids traveling through time in the land of Progress.

Need a fun way to feel old? How about finding the stove/oven you learned to cook on in the appliances of the past room? This sweet piece of history had an oven above the stove. The stove actually pulled out of that center area. And another piece of trivia: This is a very similar stove to the one in Samantha's kitchen on the Bewitched TV series.

This picture is nothing special until you realize there is a ninja hiding in Jared's pajamas. Watch out!

We also made it to the Columbus Zoo. We spent most of Sunday there and we got to see all of, well, almost half the zoo! I think we'll need to go back one of these days.

We also made it to the Olentangy Indian Caverns. It rained most of that day (stopped in time for us to do some shopping in the evening!), but we couldn't tell down in the caverns!

After our time below ground, the kids tested their mining skills. Finding "gold" in the muddy pile was a great highlight for them!
