Rolling Ridge Ranch

Better late than never, right? I just found these pictures from Sydney's field trip to Rolling Ridge Ranch the week before school got out. We've visited here before, but the kids were so young Sydney doesn't really remember. This is one of those places where I find myself wondering how legal the whole thing is while at the same time staring in wonder at God's magnificent creation all around.
As you can tell, it's also one of those places you can drive through (although I just can not imagine bringing even my 10 year old car through these animals) or take a wagon ride through. And boy do you get up close and personal with some amazing animals. You even get to feed them out of a little-teeny-tiny bucket. As long as they don't rip it out of your hands on your first attempt.

The day we went seemed pretty iffy for a field trip. It ended up storming (with all the thunder and lightning effects you could hope for) during our wagon ride. Thankfully it cleared up nicely for our lunch and the petting zoo portion of the field trip.
In case you were wondering, no, these animals do not have any awareness that they have massive horns that are about to stab you (or my tiny, skinny daughter) at any minute.
Sorry for the blurry camera phone picture. I thought the amount of animals in one place was worth sharing.

This guy lived up to the reputation of, "proud as a peacock". Every time you turned around he was making sure he was in the middle of where the big groups were, and moving around or making enough noise that you couldn't miss him and his beautiful plumage.
