It is just so hard to believe that it has already been 4 years since I laid eyes on this precious little bundle for the first time!!!
After the complications with Sydney and Jared's births we knew this little guy would be our last. I just couldn't stop holding him. What a precious gift!
Two years earlier, on Christmas Eve, we lost a baby we were carrying. Before we knew it, Sydney was on her way and she ended up joining us so early she was born a few days before we were due with the baby we lost. Our God is so amazing. He knows when dates will be hard for us and He knows what it takes to bring healing - even if we need it for a date, not just our hearts!
And, wouldn't you know it, our God is a God of whole-ness! He even healed our Christmases. Jared wasn't supposed to enter this world until late January, but the litte guy ended up with a December 15th birthday! I remember being so happy to meet him, but so sad at the thought of him spending his first Christmas in a hospital. Well, I didn't need to worry! The hospital sent Jared home very, very late on December 23rd! Our little family was all together that Christmas -- at home!
Jared wasn't near so happy about getting bundled up in his car seat, but Mike and I could hardly contain our joy!
What a special Christmas blessing this little guy is!!!
I just love this picture I snagged of him a year later in front of the tree, gnawing away at a stolen apple. :) He has the cutest skinny little feet!
He loved his cake, but when the icing was gone, he was DONE! LOL
Right now he loves that his birthday and Christmas are so close. I hope he always keeps that joy!
