It is so hard to believe that 5 years could go so fast! Last Thursday, our little Sydney celebrated her 5th birthday. She's come a long way, baby! At birth, she was a little bean at 3 lbs even. She came home weighing only 3.5 lbs. It is so hard to even describe what that is like. I think that is why this is one of my favorite pictures of Sydney and Mike: You sort of get a sense how tiny that is. She looks like a doll, here, but I assure you, this is Sydney a few days after she came home, so she would have been almost a month here.
Now, she is the girliest girl you have ever met! When you asked her what she wanted for her birthday her answer was, "Pink, purple, high heal shoes and Barbie!"
Well, Grandma kindly obliged in the Barbie department! First, a Barbie birthday card:

And, wonder of wonders, a PINK dress that matches her Barbie's!!! We are so lucky Sydney's head didn't explode in excitement!
Grandma also bought our little diva this plaid and leopard print two-piece which Sydney matched up with the dress-up accessories (including high heals!) that we gave her.
Bean: We love you and are so proud of who you are! You have been a blessing from Day One. I still marvel that I got to see your heart beating the day it started, that you couldn't wait a day longer to meet us, and that you have always been so strong in personality and yet so caring in heart. You are amazing!
