Tybee Island, GA

On our second day in Savannah, we took a little time to drive over to Tybee Island, Georgia, just off the coast. We only spent a couple hours there, but it was worth the trip, and worth more time spent there on our next visit.
While we were driving there, Mike was talking to one of his architects (did I tell you this was pretty near a 'working vacation' for Mike? He was on the phone almost constantly the first half of the trip). When Mike told him where we were, the architect surprised us by telling us that he spends time every Summer on Tybee Island and recommended that we eat at The Crab Shack. He even sent us the address!

So, we set our fancy new GPS unit and found our way to The Crab Shack for lunch! They serve seafood and shellfish galore! Mike and I were in Heaven. The kids, well, they didn't eat very much here. Apparently even the hot dogs were too gourmet for them. But it was totally worth it. Everything was outside and they had hoses strung up that spritzed water to keep us cool in the near-100 degree temps. With the shade and the breeze off the water, we were quite comfortable. What an experience!

Afterwards, the kids had some fun feeding alligators!

And Sydney showed us more of her passion for danger!
