4th of July part 1

Our 4th of July weekend was a busy one this year! After TJ's tournament on Satuday we had several family get-togethers on Sunday to attend. Right after church we headed over to Mike's uncle Eugene's place for a Sommers Family gathering and lunch.
As you can tell, Sydney, Jared and Corban thought the cupcakes were the best part, hands down. I think they loved how the red, white and blue frosting matched their clothes, don't you? Ok, maybe not. ;)

Sydney quickly found her way onto her Grandpa Sommers lap. Eugene's granddaughter, Olivia also thought her grandpa's lap was a good place to be.

I love this picture of little tiny Sydney pulling Jared in the wagon. It doesn't look like Jared has quite as much confidence in the situation as she does. But, that's pretty normal around here!
Jared must be asking Olivia if she'd like to take a ride with him...
...because they went cruisin' around the yard for a few minutes--with Olivia's watchful brother Taylor keeping his eye on them the whole time!
And then I guess he decided he ought to return the favor and take Sydney on a ride!
It is always so much fun catching up with Mike's family. This day was no exception and the beautiful weather was perfect for sitting out in the shade. It was so fun to see our kids now old enough to play with the other cousins. And it was especially nice that our kids can keep each other occupied and we can now have an almost normal conversation with the other adults there!
