Trick or Treat?

After carving pumpkins it was nearly time for trick-or-treat! The evening before had been beautiful and you didn't even need a jacket, but Saturday morning, October 31, a front moved through. It rained all morning but cleared up just in time for trick-or-treat. But the front left much colder air behind so we did our best to bundle the kids up in layers under their costumes. By the time we were at the third house the kids had asked for their winter coats and the wind kept blowing Sydney and Jared's hats off. I'm not sure if anyone could tell they were cowboys, but the kids didn't care. They just couldn't believe you could go house to house and people would give you all kinds of treats. Often Jared would just stand there on the porch staring at the person and I would have to go up and help him. Corban and Sydney did great, though. They are really getting the idea and having fun with it.

Here's my little drama king crying over spilled candy.

After all that walking in the cold night air the kids were sure happy to indulge in the fruits of their labor! Notice Corban trying to eat around that loose tooth? More on that later...

I also just had to share this picture of Sydney in her preschool's parade. She is so animated! Everyone there was quickly informed that we were, indeed, her parents and little brother. For some reason this picture makes me think of a majorette in a homecoming parade.
