Pumpkin Carving

As promised, some pumpkin carving pictures! We didn't end up getting them carved until Saturday morning, but the kids didn't care. They really got involved this year, too. We weren't sure how much they would like digging their hands into the slimy guts of the pumpkins, but Sydney and Jared dug right in! In fact, Sydney tried to help everyone, much to Jared's chagrin.

So she went back to emptying her own pumpkin.

And Jared got to work on his in his own way. One seed at a time.

Corban wasn't so excited about touching the slime (that's my boy!) but Mike did let him help carve the pumpkin this year and he did a really good job! I gave in to the temptation at the check-out counter at the grocery store and bought one of those pumpkin carving kits with the tools and the templates. It was well worth the $4 splurge!

The kids and their pumpkins. Holidays and traditions seem to get more fun each year as the kids remember and understand more and more.
