Balloons!

Could there be anything more exciting for kids than hot air balloons? Especially ones that land in your back yard? That happened to us last year; they landed all over our neighborhood. It was so much fun. The kids watched it all happen and were even able to watch/help them deflate one of the balloons. And to top that off, my in-laws had just arrived from Florida, so they got to enjoy the show, too. This weekend we thought the same thing was going to happen again. First, Macy started growling, but Mike couldn't see anything that would make her growl. Then about 5 minutes later he saw the balloons come up over the trees. Once again, they looked like they were heading straight for our house and neighborhood. I was worried one coming right at us would hit a house, but it ended up gaining altitude at the last minute and flying right between our neighbor's house and the one next to them. It didn't matter that they didn't land here. The kids still had a blast! They ran up into what they call "the clubhouse" on their swing set and were waving and yelling, "hello!" to the people in the balloons. You can't ask for better free entertainment than that!
